This value is sent at 10\u00a0Hz while processing the distance sensors. Thymio sends an 11-bit value (but future firmware could use one of the bits for internal use, thus it is better to stay within 10 bits). To use the communication, call the\u00a0<tt>prox.comm.enable(state)<\/tt>function, with 1 in\u00a0<tt>state<\/tt>\u00a0to enable communication or 0 to turn it off. If the communication is enabled, the value in the\u00a0<tt>prox.comm.tx<\/tt>\u00a0variable is transmitted every 100\u00a0ms. When Thymio receives a value, the event\u00a0<tt>prox.comm<\/tt>\u00a0is fired and the value is in the\u00a0<tt>prox.comm.rx<\/tt>\u00a0variable.<\/p>\n<h2>Challenge #9<\/h2>\n<p id=\"toc6\">Accelerometer-\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aseba.wikidot.com\/en:thymioballeinverse\">Balancing on a ball<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thymio contains a 3-axes accelerometer. An array of 3 variables,\u00a0<tt>acc<\/tt>, holds the values of the acceleration along these 3 axes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><tt>acc[0]<\/tt>\u00a0: x-axis (from right to left, positive towards left)<\/li>\n<li><tt>acc[1]<\/tt>\u00a0: y-axis (from front to back, positive towards the rear)<\/li>\n<li><tt>acc[2]<\/tt>\u00a0: z-axis (from top to bottom, positive towards ground)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The values in this array vary from -32 to 32, where 1\u00a0g (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Earth%27s_gravity\">the acceleration of the earth&#8217;s gravity<\/a>) corresponding to the value 23, and therefore one unit corresponds to 0.45\u00a0N (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Newton_%28unit%29\">Newton<\/a>). Thymio updates this array at a frequency of 16\u00a0Hz, and generates the\u00a0<tt>acc<\/tt>\u00a0event after every update.
